Billy Ocean

Join up your campaign with shopping centre radio

By | Blog, In-Store

Running a campaign or any kind takes a lot of time and energy, and there’s nothing more heart-breaking than a great campaign going unnoticed because nobody knew about it.

So when the Sovereign Centre contacted us asking for ways to shout about their giveaway, where shoppers could win tickets to see Billy Ocean, we gave them a quick fix at a rapid turnaround.

How?

We quickly scripted a radio message that raised awareness of the competition, letting 100% of the shoppers in their mall know they had to visit the centre’s Facebook page to enter. This was followed by one of Billy Ocean’s finest tracks, putting shoppers in the mood to enter.

The real beauty of radio messaging is that once the message is recorded, the centre can schedule it to play as frequently as they want, and at specific times of the day to capture the greatest footfall.

So if you’re planning a campaign, sayhello@onbrandgroup.co.uk or call us on 03333 22 00 22 to find out how we can maximise the impact in your mall.

Can Shoppers Find Your Offers?

By | Blog, Digital

Everybody loves an offer, so it goes without saying that a shopping centre’s website and social media channels are great places to find the best deals coming up . . . right?

Wrong.

In a recent study, we analysed the digital channels of nearly 400 British shopping centres to see how visible their offers were. We rated these centres, awarding scores between 1 and 5 on the efficiency, quality and quantity of their offers, and the results were definitely a little surprising.

As a rule, the more offers customers see, the more engaged they feel, and the more connected they become to the brand. Yet an incredible 31% of shopping centres in the UK didn’t promote a single offer. 15% of centres ran between 1-4 offers, and only 32% had 5 offers or more visible to their customers.

And the numbers are only part of the problem.

Equally as detrimental as running no offers at all is running them badly, which in itself can lead to a whole host of problems. From our findings, a number of shopping centres had:

  • Uninspiring content, turning shoppers off
  • Expired offers, revealing the content is unreliable
  • Duplicated content, which is penalised by Google
  • Mismatched information between their website and social media channels
  • Offers pages that didn’t load, displaying a lack of care for the centre’s customers and retailers

We understand how hard it is to get offers right when there’s so little spare time in your day

Because of these issues, which presented themselves repeatedly, there were 26% of shopping centre websites that we weren’t able to award a score at all.

So what does this mean for the state of offers in the UK?

Well, the way we see it, the statistics pose a great opportunity. We understand how hard it is to get offers right when there’s so little spare time in your day, and our solution was to create a tool that ensures all of your retailers’ latest offers feed into your digital channels – either automatically or manually – at the click of a button.

What does OnBrand Offers provide you? We’re glad you asked.

1. Content
Pick and choose from our suggested feed or post your own.

2. Technology
Platform that allows you to schedule and post to multiple channels in one action.

3. Data
Analytics to monitor reach and performance at the click of a button.

In order to show you how much of an impact our Offers product could have on your centre, we’re willing to let you trial it for a period of 14 days – absolutely free!

Do they know it’s Christmas?

Do they know it’s Christmas?

By | Blog, On The Phone

By now,  the meetings are over, agents have been notified and you’ve worked out how you’re going to handle the Christmas rush. But have you told the customer? What expectations do they have, or will they only find out when they hear the dreaded ‘due to high call volumes….”  Let them know in advance and get your seasonal messaging organised with OnBrand.

We know Christmas is a great time for generating more business, but tempers can be easily frayed as your resources are tested to their limits. This can be avoided by keeping your customers’ wants and needs in mind and one way to ensure you go into the New Year with your reputation intact is to create a series of personalised Christmas and New Year messages.

Three steps to a better Christmas

1. Trading Hours
If a change in trading hours causes your customers any inconvenience, you might find yourself constantly on the back foot. This means you won’t have a Merry Christmas, or a Happy New Year. Instead, make your updated hours the first thing people hear when they call, and get them excited about extended hours where applicable. This will put your callers in a good frame of mind from the offset.

2. Contingency planning
Do you historically need to close near Christmas due to bad weather conditions? You can use this knowledge to your advantage by simply recording an automated message that tells your callers just that. Then, should the worst happen again, you’ll be fully prepared for it.

3. Wish Your Callers Well
You can not only protect your brand’s reputation, but actually enhance it, by wishing your customers well. At no part of the year is it easier to earn some extra brownie points with your customers. By covering yourself with up-to-date messages for the Christmas and New Year period, you’ll be able to hit the ground running in 2017. And what could give you a better reason to celebrate than that?

You are welcome to contact us via sayhello@onbrandgroup.co.uk, or give us a call on 03333 220 022 to see how we can help your business.

Christmas Comes Early At OnBrand Group

Christmas Comes Early At OnBrand Group

By | Blog, In-Store

Christmas starts early in many organisations and the forward planning involved for the festive season. It’s certainly no different for the team at OnBrand Radio.

Throughout the year we produce many thousands of messages for shopping centres & retailers, but now we are into October the requests start to increase for the Christmas shopping period. Our clients have deadlines to meet and large operations to run so to ensure we are on time (or well ahead of time) our Christmas is already well under way.

OnBrand Radio’s team support over 200 shopping centres and the right festive tunes can make shoppers feel good by creating the right atmosphere and therefore, they can be encouraged to purchase more if the ‘feel good’ factor is right. We profile music seasonally, but at Christmas we provide the perfect soundtrack to fit any retail environment. But Christmas doesn’t stop there for us…

Shopping centres have many festive events leading up to Christmas and customers need to know when everything is happening. This is where our production team start their Christmas. We receive events dates from our clients and then script the messages, record them, edit them and profile them so that they are delivered on time.

Christmas shopping messages common to most centres include: Christmas lights ‘switch on’ & Christmas opening hours or late night shopping days. We are also currently recording messages for events such as: Christmas craft fairs, Victorian Christmas markets & Santas parade.

Delivering messages on time for our clients is something we take very seriously at OnBrand Radio, so whilst the leaves are still to fall from the trees and October is still with us, our team are prepared for Christmas, just maybe not wearing Santa hats just yet!
